Description: Brown upper parts and head, with white under parts with brown spots. Yellow legs and bill with a black tip. White-eye strip. Female is larger with more spots.
Habits: Found in area with water in summer. A very common bird
Diet: Insects and small fish
Mating: Monogamous
Nest: Mostly a solitary nester. 3 – 5 eggs that can be brown, pink or green. Hatches in 21 – 22 days
Migration: Migratory
Whitin Pond: Seen in the spring on Whitin Pond.
